Dr. Schurz studied human medicine at the medical faculty in Vienna and subsequently successfully completed his specialist training in Trauma Surgery and the additional specialization in Sports Traumatology at the University Clinic for Trauma Surgery in Vienna. Since 2012, Dr. Schurz has been a ward-leading Senior Physician at the University Clinic for Trauma Surgery in Vienna, and from 2013, he headed the Sports Outpatient Clinic at the University Clinic for Trauma Surgery. In September 2017, Dr. Schurz additionally successfully completed the specialist examination for Orthopedics and Traumatology and has been a Specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology since 2019. Since March 2020, Dr. Schurz has been working exclusively independently in his practice at the Vienna Private Clinic.
Dr. Schurz is certified as a Sports Physician by the Austrian Medical Association (ÖAK Diploma in Sports Medicine), holds the Emergency Physician Diploma, as well as the Diploma in Mountain Medicine.
Since January 2009, Dr. Schurz has been treating his patients in his practice at the Vienna Private Clinic in the 9th district of Vienna.
Dr. Schurz performs approximately 500 operations per year and is therefore among the most experienced trauma surgeons and sports traumatologists in Austria. He has been active in trauma surgery and sports traumatology since 2002.
