Surgery Costs
Private Class Insurance:
You have private supplementary/accident insurance that covers stays and procedures in a private clinic. Senior Physician Dr. Mark Schurz will personally attend to you as a private patient, preferably at the Wiener Privatklinik .
Dr. Mark Schurz is a member of the “Competence Center for Sports Traumatology” and has fixed allocated operating capacities at the Wiener Privatklinik, which allows for quick appointment scheduling.
The costs for the clinic stay, surgery, anaesthesia, and consumables are covered by your insurance (Private Class cost coverage).
If you are contracted with a private insurance company not based in Austria, this is not a problem! To ensure direct billing between your insurance and the clinic, only a cost assumption confirmation from your insurance is required. Dr. Schurz’s practice will gladly assist you with the formalities.
Patients Insured in Austria
If you have Austrian statutory compulsory insurance (excluding BVA and KFA), you can be operated on and treated by Dr. Mark Schurz as a private patient.
In this case, operations are performed at the
Evangelical Hospital Vienna
or the
Atomos Clinic
The additional payment amount for the services of your statutory health insurance is determined by the Evangelical Hospital Vienna or the Atomos Clinic based on an annually updated table and is indication-dependent, therefore varying from case to case. However, Dr. Schurz’s practice will immediately provide you with a cost overview schurz@schurz.co.at or 0676/97 400 49).
Self-Pay Patients
You do not have Austrian compulsory insurance and no private insurance, possibly foreign statutory health insurance.
You can be operated on and attended to by Dr. Mark Schurz as a private patient at the
Atomos Clinic
or the
Wiener Privatklinik
Before each procedure, you will receive a cost estimate to ensure cost transparency. You will receive an invoice from Dr. Schurz’s practice, which you can submit to your insurance if applicable.
