Pediatric Traumatology
The injured child requires a highly individualized treatment, as professional competence alone is not sufficient.
Children require a high degree of sensitivity and empathy to undergo examinations and treatments. They must not experience any pain during this process, in order to develop the most positive attitude possible towards the medical environment and prevent future doctor’s visits from evoking negative associations.
As a father of one son and two daughters, I am accustomed to dealing with children and know how to address the needs of young patients effectively.
In my practice, I treat newly injured children, and ongoing therapies (e.g., cast treatments for fractures) can be continued.
Children particularly benefit from continuous medical care, as a basis of trust can be established that is often not built in a hospital outpatient clinic.
We treat:
- Bone fractures
- Growth plate injuries
- Ligament and tendon injuries
- Meniscus injuries
- ACL tears in adolescents
- Cartilage injuries
- Corrective surgeries for malunited fractures
- Implant removal
Often, under acute conditions, a surgical procedure is necessary, during which metallic implants are inserted. The removal of these implants occurs after confirmed bone healing.
This can be done in a planned manner and in an atmosphere pleasant for your child, without the rush of an acute hospital with appointment issues and bed shortages.
